Galaxy Unpacked 2025: Official Launch Date, Galaxy S25 Lineup, and Exciting Pre-order Bonuses

Samsung’s Unpacked 2025 event is just a week away, and boy, aren’t we excited. With rumors and leaks coming from every direction, it is pretty clear that Samsung is cooking something big this year. The Galaxy S25 series will undoubtedly be the main highlight of the event. But there’s plenty more to look forward to. From a new mixed-reality headset to the highly expected Galaxy Ring 2, Samsung is set to introduce some game-changing innovations. Here’s what we expect to see from this year’s Unpacked event.
Galaxy Unpacked 2025: When is it
Samsung Unpacked is set to take place in San Jose California on Wednesday, January 22, just like last year’s event. It will begin at 6 PM UTC, the equivalent of 1 PM ET, 7 PM CET, and 11:30 PM IST.
Like every year, the event will be an in-person one, but only a selected few will have the privilege of attending it. However, you can still catch a live stream on Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom, and Samsung's YouTube channel.
Galaxy Unpacked 2025: What to expect
Samsung Galaxy S25 Series

Samsung is set to release its new range of flagships: the Galaxy S25 series. And according to the leaks, we can expect the usual trio: the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, speculation has also been surrounding a fourth device– the Galaxy S25 Slim. More on this later!
Turning our focus back to the confirmed lineup, all three devices are rumored to feature more rounded corners, flatter edges, and slimmer bezels. The Galaxy S25 and S25+ are sticking to the same size as before, but the Galaxy S25 Ultra could get a bit of a refresh with a 6.9-inch display.
Galaxy S25 Leaks also hint that the Ultra might receive a new 50-megapixel ultrawide, as well as better telephoto lenses with improved zoom. The Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus might also receive camera upgrades, but they are likely to be minor. However, renders indicate that the camera modules could see a redesign.
Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy S25 series is expected to pack Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which was announced in October 2024. But unlike the Galaxy S24 which uses a mixture of Exynos and Qualcomm silicon, the new flagship could run entirely on the new Qualcomm chipset.
Additionally, the Galaxy S25 series is rumored to support Qi2 wireless charging, offering faster and more efficient charging. This new standard ensures better compatibility with a range of wireless chargers, making it a convenient option for users who want a hassle-free charging experience.
Samsung has teased that AI will be a big part of this year's phones, promising the next evolution of Galaxy AI will be more intuitive and natural. That could mean an updated Bixby virtual assistant that combines Samsung’s own Gauss AI model with Google Gemini.
The Galaxy S25 release date could fall on February 7, just over two weeks after Galaxy Unpacked. That timing lines up with how Samsung usually handles pre-orders for its phones.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim

As the name suggests, the Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to be a slimmer version of the S25. Essentially, it is Samsung’s answer to the rumored iPhone 17 Air. But other than this, little is known about this phone, including whether it will actually launch on January 22. If it doesn’t then it’s very plausible that the phone could debut in the second half of 2025.
As for the features, we’d speculate that it would likely measure less than 7.6mm in thickness, which is what the S24 measures. One Galaxy S25 rumor has also hinted that the phone might sport a 200MP main camera, just like the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The display size is rumored to lie somewhere between the S25 Plus and Ultra.
One UI 7

One UI 7 is shaping up to be an exciting update. Samsung released a beta version that Galaxy S24 users can now access, but the new user interface will likely be officially launched alongside the Galaxy S25 Series. One clear thing is that this new user interface will bring some much-needed upgrades.
The feature that's probably going to steal the show at Galaxy Unpacked 2025 is its new "Now bar." This is essentially Samsung’s version of the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 16. It will let you view live notifications for ongoing activities like video or music. When charging your phone, Now Bar will act as a progress bar, showing how much longer your phone need to reach full charge.
If you love multitasking, One UI 7 will be a dream come true. You’ll now be able to view more than one app tile at the same. The UI also comes with an assortment of new icons, fonts, widgets, and battery indicators.
Samsung XR and AR Glasses

Samsung is collaborating with Google and Qualcomm to develop a mixed-reality headset, code-named Project Moohan. This device was initially set to debut in 2024, but that wasn’t possible. Things are looking much more promising for 2025. Samsung has confirmed that these headsets will be the first to run on the recently announced Android XR platform.
We don’t know a lot more about Project Moohan. Qualcomm has confirmed it will come with a Snapdragon XR Plus Gen 2 chipset. Samsung promises "state-of-the-art displays, passthrough capabilities, and natural multi-modal input." We expect to at least see a preview of the device at Galaxy Unpacked.
Galaxy Ring 2

A plausible Galaxy Ring 2 release is creating hype, and many are wondering if it will arrive sooner than expected. The first generation Galaxy Ring hit the shelves in July, so it’s probably too soon to expect a follow-up. But that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating that the company may announce it at the Unpacked event.
This assumption has been especially solidified by Samsung’s announcement of two new Galaxy Ring sizes. It also revealed some of the new features that its working on. That includes a sleep environment report, mindfulness tracker, and sleep time guidance.
A thinner design, longer battery life, and upgraded sensors are also among the speculations. We do hope that this next-generation wearable device will at least show up as a teaser at the Wednesday event.
Galaxy Z Flip FE

The Galaxy Z Flip —or rather, foldable phones in general—don’t come cheap, and many users have been hoping that manufacturers would release more affordable options. Last year, there were speculations that Samsung would finally answer the call by releasing a Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE.
The buzz around this has died down as reports suggest that a Galaxy Z Flip FE could be in the works. Specific details are limited, but the device might launch in 2025. However, it’s very unlikely that it will debut during the Galaxy Unpacked event.
Pre-order Bonuses and Reservation Details
