Warranty Policy

Your peace of mind is our priority. Here's how our warranty works.

Our voluntary warranty of up to 12 months applies in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. The consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law are not limited to 12 months, they apply for a reasonable period having regard to the nature, price, and expected lifespan of your device, which may be longer than the voluntary warranty period.
  • How to Claim Warranty
    • If your device develops a fault during the warranty period, simply submit a return or warranty claim here or call us at +61 3 9462 6936. No long forms. No friction. Just support when you need it.
  • Battery & Performance Policy
    • We stand by the performance of every device we sell. Battery health is covered under OEM standards. If you're dissatisfied with the battery or general performance, you're eligible for a 30-day return or product swap, no questions asked.
  • What's Not Covered by Our Voluntary Warranty
    • Our voluntary warranty excludes damage caused after delivery by the customer, including liquid exposure, cracked screens, physical damage, or heavy wear and tear. Misuse or mishandling may void the voluntary warranty coverage.
    • Important: these exclusions apply to our voluntary warranty only. They do not limit, exclude, or affect your consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, which apply automatically to every purchase and cannot be excluded.
  • Extended Warranty
    • On selected devices you can add a further 12 months at the time of purchase, taking your total voluntary warranty to 24 months. Availability and price are shown on the product page.
    • The extension covers the same faults as our standard voluntary warranty and runs from the end of your initial 12-month period. The same claim process, exclusions, and terms on this page apply throughout.
    • It does not add accidental damage cover. Your consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law apply whether or not you take the extension.
  • Repair, Replacement & Refund Process
    • If your device develops a fault, whether it's a performance issue, hardware malfunction, or any valid warranty concern, you're fully covered.
    • Within the first 30 days, you're entitled to a full refund with no questions asked. If you prefer a repair instead, we'll provide a prepaid return label, assess the issue, and repair the device free of charge, as long as there's no accidental or liquid damage.
    • If the device can't be repaired, we'll offer a replacement of the same or upgraded model, depending on availability. If no replacement is available within 15 days, a full refund will be issued.
    • After 30 days, change-of-mind returns are no longer accepted. However, your device remains protected under warranty for all standard, mechanical and electrical failures for the full duration of the warranty period.
    • In the rare case that a device is found to be AMTA-blocked, the customer is entitled to either a refund or a replacement, based on their preference.
  • Non-Repairable Devices
    • If our team finds the device to be irreparable, a replacement will be arranged in accordance with your warranty eligibility. Please note that we do not offer courtesy phones during repair or claim processing.
  • Repair Notice and Data Responsibility
    • Repair Notice (Australian Consumer Law): Goods presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type rather than being repaired. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the goods.
    • The repair or assessment of your goods may result in the loss of any user-generated data stored on the device. Please make a copy (back-up) of all data saved on your device before presenting it for repair.
    • Phonebot does not retain, recover, or create backups of customer data. A written copy of this Repair Notice will be provided to you before your device is accepted for any warranty inspection or repair.
  • Processing Timelines
    • All refunds are processed within 1–3 business days after product verification. Replacements are dispatched within 1–3 business days, subject to availability.
  • Battery Replacement
    • To maintain our quality standards, all iOS devices sold by Phonebot undergo battery replacement by default if they fall below acceptable health levels. Rest assured, every device meets a minimum of 80% battery capacity, ensuring reliable performance from day one.
  • Shutter Sound Notice
    • Phonebot sources its devices from both local and international suppliers. Some imported iOS models may feature a non-muteable camera shutter sound due to regional firmware restrictions. In such cases, we'll happily offer a swap for a muteable variant if requested within 30 days of purchase.
  • Faulty Device? We’ve Got You.
    • If your device has a major failure, you are entitled under the Australian Consumer Law to choose between a full refund or a replacement, the choice is yours, and we will honour it. You may instead choose to keep the device and be compensated for any drop in its value.
    • If the failure is minor, we will repair the device free of charge within a reasonable time or, if we cannot, offer you a replacement or refund. Replacements are typically arranged within 10 business days.
    • Store credit is available only if you prefer it. It is never a substitute for your refund or replacement rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
  • Delivery Issues
    • If your device arrives damaged, please notify us as soon as possible — ideally within 48 hours of receiving the parcel, so we can investigate quickly with the courier.
    • Prompt notification helps us resolve your claim faster, but it is not a condition of your rights. All damaged-on-delivery claims are assessed on their merits, and your consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (including the guarantee of acceptable quality) are not affected by when you notify us.
  • Your Rights Under the Australian Consumer Law
    • Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
    • This voluntary warranty, including any extended warranty period purchased, is provided by Phonebot (ACN 159 117 745), Shop A, 289–291 Broadway, Reservoir VIC 3073, phone (03) 9462 6936, email [email protected]. To claim, submit a return via phonebot.com.au or call us. Phonebot will bear the reasonable costs of a valid warranty claim, including return postage by prepaid label. The benefits under this voluntary warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies you have under law.
